It was a beautiful day. You couldn’t have asked for better weather for the Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at the Springcreek Golf Club in Claremont hosted by the DCBE (Durham Business Contact Exchange).
DCBE President, Judy Stacee-Cleaver tells us a bit about the day…
“We have been hosting this event for years for various causes. The past several years we have raised money for Bethesda House, the women’s shelter in the Durham Region. It’s a great opportunity to get to know fellow business people while having a little fun and doing some good for the community. We play “best ball” and it’s a nine hole course so anyone can play without feeling intimidated. We eat, we drink, we get some exercise and sunshine and we enjoy the day.”
This year held a little surprise for all participants. The first hole was the “Marshmallow Hole”. Giant marshmallows were sacrificed with no mercy as each golfer took a swing to see who could hit it the farthest. To be honest, it wasn’t that easy to get the marshmallow to stay on the tee.
Some were more interested in eating the marshmallows but everyone gave it their best shot.
And the winner was…Chris Cleaver, who showed that marshmallow who was the boss,
and of course Bethesda House and everyone who came out to have some fun.
